The Cabo Project
The Cabo Project is a family collective made up of Noga Cabo, Adam Cabo, Zohar Cabo, & Dassi Rosenkrantz. They released a self-titled album in 2021.
Formerly known as the Solar Sound Band, the members of The Cabo Project grew up in Beacon, NY surrounded by a lively folk music scene. They spent their childhoods performing together in festivals, venues, and fundraisers across New York State for , and have since gone on to pursue their own musical interests and artistic endeavors. The Cabo Project serves as a dynamic, malleable container in which they can come together and create as a family from time to time.
In July of 2020, we spent two weeks working day and night on the beginnings of The Cabo Project. Setting up a recording space in the living room of “The Farm”(a house on the Hudson Valley Distillers property in Germantown, NY), we went in with zero expectation of what we would create. A couple of days in, we unanimously decided that this project would be a vehicle to give voice to the origins of our lineage and ourselves. We explore our family’s complex cultural history through genre and storytelling, while also drawing ties between our roots and our own present-day experiences of the world.
